Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine that is used worldwide, as it clearly works. Nobody knows exactly how or why it works, but it does. One theory goes that the unique method of diluting the remedies imprints the 'energy pattern' of the active ingredient into the water being used to dilute it. It is believed that this energy pattern can stimulate the body's self-healing energy.
A German Doctor, Samuel Hahnemann developed homeopathy in the 1800's. Homeopathy is based on an ancient principle called the Law of Similars. This law says that any substance that can produce symptoms of disease in a healthy person can help someone who is ill and has the same symptoms.
Homeopathic medicines and remedies are all FDA-approved and are made from many natural sources like plants, metals and minerals. These substances are used in a very diluted form, and in some cases there is not a single molecule of the original substance remaining in tact. The strength of a homeopathic medicine all depend on the dilution.
Homeopathy can be used for just about any ailment. Some include back pain, colds and flu, digestive problems, insect bites, burns, sprains and bruises. If used under a professional, homeopathic medicine is equally effective for more chronic conditions like arthritis, allergies, depression and heart disease. To be effective for these more serious conditions, the remedies need to be tailored to the individual person by a qualified person. There is no way you could treat these sorts of problems on your own.
All homeopathic medication is safe and non toxic. They can even be given to children, and used by pregnant women. If using homeopathic medication for home care on your own, make sure to check with your doctor to make sure that you are doing the right thing, and that the condition that you want to treat doesn't require another sort of medical attention.
Make sure to take these sorts of remedies one at a time. If you combine the remedies, they are not as effective. Follow all the instructions and dosage requirements carefully and stop taking once you see an improvement. In rare cases, taking too much of a specific remedy may make the condition worse, but if symptoms do persist after self treatment, see your doctor for further advice. Make sure to never treat chronic conditions on your own at home. These types of conditions should always be handled by a professional in the medical field.
